TRUMANN, AR (KAIT) - Region 8 middle school students were at Cedar Park Elementary Friday to show students another way to read.
The seventh graders from Trumann Intermediate Center created children's books on laptops and brought them to the school to share with the elementary students.
Vickie Morgan said the older kids read to the younger ones, allowing for them to get practice in oral communication.
"Part of the goal is to teach them oral communication skills, which they also need in the future," Morgan said. "So by them presenting today, that's giving them practice and also it's helping them give back to the community."
Morgan said this was all possible thanks to the fact the school is now a new tech school.
