JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - A 4-run first inning set the tone for a 20-9 Rivercrest rout of Nettleton in high school softball at Raider Field on Monday night.
The Colts showed patience at the plate drawing four walks in the top of the first and eventually pushed across 4 runners to take a 4-0 lead. Nettleton would respond with 3 runs in the bottom of half of the inning to cut it down to 4-3 through the first inning.
Rivercrest would pull away and plate a total of 20 runs and held Nettleton to just five more the rest of the game to get to the final score of 20-9.
Both teams approach the end of the season with Rivercrest playing well heading into the final stretch.
The game was part of a varsity game followed by a junior varsity matchup between the Raiders and the Colts.
