JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - A key part of Nettleton Girls' Basketball the past few seasons has signed her letter of intent to play college basketball for Southwest Tennessee Community College.
Miah Kimbrough inked the document in the Nettleton High School Commons on Wednesday afternoon, officially locking her in to continue her basketball career at the collegiate level.
Kimbrough told Region 8 Sports that she wasn't sure she'd have this opportunity at one point this off-season. "When I went to the All-Star game I wasn't expecting to have an offer I was just playing as if it was my last game," Kimbrough said.
Once the All-Star game was over, she said she had earned a couple of looks from different schools. "I talked to her after the game and she had me set up a college visit and went to the college and I liked the school, I liked the coach and I feel like that's the best decision I need to make," she said.
Southwest Tennessee Community College is located in Memphis, Tennessee and has a reputation for having good athletic programs. Kimbrough will bring a good defensive presence along with versatile scoring potential.
