Amazing things happen when we all pull together. An example of that came from a group of Region 8 students.
After listening to our editorial about the circumstances foster children face being sent from house to house with few belongings, students involved in their high school musical made an appeal for pajamas.
The community responded... donating 221 pairs of pajamas of all sizes.
Suddenly the spring musical at Jonesboro High School took on a deeper meaning. Students involved in the Pajama Game Musical, met a couple of girls adopted from foster care.
In fact, each night of the show, their instructor, Krisie Holmes, invited a different foster family to come on stage to promote the pajama project. The high school musical transformed into a service opportunity. They saw, first-hand, the value of giving back... and that, is a lesson for all of us.
It certainly makes for A Better Region 8.
