JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Now that the farmers have been able to get in the fields, the tractors have gotten work in and with that comes needed repairs.
Businesses in Region 8 that do repair or sell farm equipment have been benefiting now that the ground has dried up.
Scott Ford with Greenway Equipment Inc. said it didn't really start until the past few weeks, which is when the farmers got into the field.
"After the last rain it's increased significantly, and doing quite well," Ford said. "I guess everyone is getting what they need planted."
With nice weather in the forecast, Ford said it looks like business will keep up for them, because as long as there are farmers in the fields tractor repairs and new equipment will be needed.
As the farmers are working in the field, other residents have been working in their yards, bringing smaller tractor companies business as well.
Tracy Grissom with Jonesboro Tractor Sales said it started out slow during the wet weather, but things have really picked up.
"I was talking to my service manager the other day and he said this has been one of the busiest springs that we've actually had," Grissom said.
