Dodge Challenger catches fire Sunday morning, driver uninjured

CRAIGHEAD COUNTY, AR (KAIT) -

Emergency crews were called out to a car on fire in Craighead County early Sunday morning.

The driver of the 2014 Dodge Challenger pulled up to the stop sign at the intersection of Craighead County Road 745 and County Road 760 around 12:20 a.m.

The driver said he smelled smoke and there was smoke coming up from under the hood.

He got out of the car and called police.

By the time the Brookland Fire Department responded to the scene, the fire was fully involved.

The driver was not injured, but the car is a total loss.

According to Brookland Police, the driver reported the car was having engine problems before this happened.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
