Teens banned from mall after criminal mischief charges

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

Five teenage boys are banned from the Mall at Turtle Creek after jumping on a parked vehicle and causing problems with customers.

While working as extra mall security, Officer Owen Smith with the Jonesboro Police Department was told that young males were loitering in front of the Best Buy in the mall.

Security staff told the officer the teens were also damaging a car by jumping on the hood, causing it to dent.

According to the police report, the same boys were also reported to have been cussing at customers and mall employees and trying to start fights.

Three of the boys said two others were the ones jumping on the car, but admitted they were all being disorderly inside the mall.

The two teens who were allegedly jumping on the car were both charged with criminal mischief and banned the mall for three years.

The other three boys were charged with disorderly conduct and banned for one year.

They were then released to their parents or guardians.
