PARAGOULD, AR (KAIT) -

A house fire at a home in Greene County landed a woman behind bars on drug charges.

According to the Greene County Sheriff's Department, when officers responded to the fire Saturday at Alice Mildred Barron's home on Highway 412 she was "in the front yard rocking, uncontrollably screaming to save her babies."

When officers were able to calm Barron down, she explained her babies were her cats and they were inside the home in her bedroom.

Once inside, officers were able to put out the fire but when they went to Barron's bedroom, officers report instead of finding her cats, they found drugs.

The report states deputies found meth, prescription pills and drug paraphernalia in Barron's bedroom. She reportedly told officers she had been clean for over ten years and didn't know why she started using meth again.

Barron was arrested on two felony drug charges.
