Brookland's Long excited to play basketball in NOLA
BROOKLAND, AR (KAIT) - For the second time in as many days, a Brookland Bearcat committed to play sports at the collegiate level.
Menley Long signed to play basketball at Loyola University in New Orleans on Tuesday. She will be the first player to sign a college letter of intent under Brookland Girls' Basketball Coach Jared Richey's nine-year tenure with the school.
Long told Region 8 Sports that she was excited to be headed to the Big Easy. "I found Loyola which was in New Orleans which I love," said Long, "I got to go to camp and I loved the coaches and the players."
She leaves behind a Brookland team that had explosive scoring potential the past couple of seasons and Long takes with her a great set of ball-handling skills and a strong shooting ability.
Loyola University Women's Basketball went 27-4 this past season.
