Cedar Ridge wins state fishing championship

RUSSELLVILLE, AR (KAIT) - Cedar Ridge won a state championship over the weekend that had nothing to do with baseball, softball, or soccer.

The T-Wolves competed in the state fishing championship on Lake Dardanelle and took two of the first four spots in the competition with their teams in the tournament.

The duo of CJ Brustrom and William Carpenter got first place in the state catching five bass while their teammates Layton Lovell and Jordan Bumpous caught five bass that weighed-in enough to get them fourth place.

Heber Springs' Zach Ingram and Chase Galloway got caught five bass and finished in second place in the competition.

The top ten percent from this competition will advance to the High School Fishing Conference Championship.
