Wide Ranging Allegations Made Against Marmaduke School System

MARMADUKE-- There are rumors circulating in Marmaduke about allegations of tax evasion, sexual misconduct, misappropriation of funds and non-compliance with state education standards.

Lips were sealed in Marmaduke today, but the details of the allegations and those involved are expected to be uncovered soon.

The allegations came to light when Marmaduke Elementary principal Jim Bob Lentz was accused of sexual harassment.

K-8 sources say that Lentz was accused by two teachers, served with papers and given 30 minutes to gather his things before he was escorted from the school building.

Sources say that Lentz was not terminated but put on leave until the issues were investigated.

We tried to speak with several school board members and the superintendent of the Marmaduke school system, but they denied comment of these allegations.

But sources say there might be more to the allegations than what has surfaced.

There are also accusations against other school officials for misappropriation of funds and non-compliance with State Education standards.

Some allege that former superintendent Jerry Macintosh, who retired after 40 years with the school system in November, may have been investigated for fraud.

But when we spoke with Macintosh today, he said the school had been audited and cleared of all suspicion.
