CRC's McFadden stepping down after 30 years

PARAGOULD, AR (CRC) - Crowley's Ridge College Coach Paul McFadden has been involved in CRC Athletics for 30 years. He will retire from coaching baseball at the end of this season. His first year to Coach at CRC was 1985 when he coached the first women's basketball team and went 11-10 that first year and beat York College that season. He coached the women's team the first 3 years of their existence.

He started coaching the men's basketball team in 1986 and would coach them for the next 8 seasons (1986-1997). CRC won the S.C.A.C. (Southland Christian Athletic Conference) 3 consecutive years (1986-89).

McFadden was named S.C.A.C. Coach of the Year for basketball during the 1986-87 season. The 1988-89 men's basketball team went 16-0 in the conference and won the conference tournament with McFadden at the helm. He also stepped in and coached the 2004-05 basketball team as interim coach and finished Runner up in the A.C.C.A. National Tournament.

He began coaching baseball in 1995-96 and then coached the 1996-97 season and took a few years off from active coaching while his children were playing their high school years of athletics.

After the death of CRC Baseball Coach James Scott in 2006, McFadden was called on once again, and he began coaching baseball and has coached the last 9 seasons (2006-2015). Along the way, he became CRC's Athletic Director and has served in that capacity for several years and will continue to do that after retiring from baseball this season.
