JONESBORO, AR - It was a good night for the brand new Street Crimes Unit of the Jonesboro Police Department.  The unit, which just began operations this week, had a big bust on Thursday night.

Acting on a tip, the unit went to a room at the Ramada Limited on Apache Drive in Jonesboro.  There, they found two suspects with stolen and counterfiet checks, an illegal firearm, 6.6 grams of crack cocaine, and over $500 in cash. They also recovered items purchased with forged checks. Two people, a man and a woman from Walnut Ridge, were arrested at the scene.
