MEMPHIS, TN - The daughter of a contractor being held hostage in Iraq is asking his kidnappers to release him.  Amanda Hallums, a Memphis-area cosmetologist whose father is originally from Paragould, says she hopes that publicizing a photo of his granddaughter will help her plea.

A photograph of Amanda Hallums and her 7-year-old daughter ran in the Memphis Commercial Appeal.  The 25-year-old woman says she is hoping the kidnappers will see that her father has family who need him.  She says her father spent most of the last twelve years in Saudi Arabia and went to Iraq with the Saudi Trading & Construction Company, supplying food to the Iraqi Army.

Roy Hallums, 56, has been held hostage since he and another man were taken from their office in Bahgdad on November 1.  In a video that was aired last month, he was shown pleading for his life with a rifle pointed at his head.
