Father of missing 4-year-old searches for answers

PARAGOULD, AR (KAIT) - A Region 8 man continues to search for his four-year-old daughter after his ex-wife's arrest.

Brandon Lee said Millington, TN police arrested his ex-wife, 31-year-old Christine Rebecca Flick, Sunday.

Flick has been missing for a year, along with their young daughter, Alyssa Lee. Flick does not have custody of the child. Lee does.

Flick was arrested in Millington Sunday for felony warrants out of Trumann. She is currently in custody in Trumann, where Lee told Region 8 News he is questioning her about their daughter's whereabouts.

Paul Holmes with the Jonesboro Police Department said Flick would not cooperate with police. However, Lee said Flick contacted him and said she would talk to him about Alyssa.

Lee reported his daughter missing to the Jonesboro Police Department May 2, but he first worked with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children when Alyssa first disappeared a year ago.

Holmes said police have not issued an amber alert because they do not believe Alyssa is at risk of serious bodily injury or death.

However, Lee said he has been living in agony these past 12 months.

"This has been the toughest time of my life," he said. "I haven't been myself. It's been very hard going from having Alyssa every weekend to not even hearing her voice."

Lee said about 12 months ago, Flick was supposed to appear in court because she had been withholding Alyssa from him during his scheduled visits. But because of Flick's felony warrants out of Trumann, Lee believes instead of showing up to court, she took Alyssa and left town.

"I miss Alyssa very much and I do love her more than anything in this world," he said. "I look at her pictures every day."

For the past 12 months, pictures are the only thing Lee has had of his daughter.

"It's hard not knowing where she's at, how she's doing, if she's even alright," he said. "I worry about the mother taking care of her like she needs. Bad situations, I always fear the worst and it's just been really tough."

Lee said he just hopes Flick tells him where their daughter is.

"That way we can get all of this resolved, put it in the past and get along all of us together," he said.

However, even if Flick does not release any information, Lee said he will never give up until he sees Alyssa again.

"My friends and family want to see that smile on my face again and they will when I see her again," he said. "She's everything to me. She's my life. She's what keeps me going in this world. Without her, it seems like I'm not complete, not whole."
