STEELE, MO (KAIT) - A shed fire turns into an arson investigation in Steele where a man was arrested.
Steele Police Chief Billy Joe Stanfield stated in a news release Tuesday that officers and the Steele Fire Department were called to fire on Saturday.
The shed fire on the 400-block of Fairmont Street was extinguished after officials quickly arrived on scene.
Stanfield said it was determined that the fire was deliberately set after officers interviewed witnesses at the scene.
Following an extensive investigation, Blake Allen Gist, 28, of Steele was arrested and charged with second degree arson as well as second degree burglary, Stanfield said.
Gist was taken to the Pemiscot County Jail where he is being held on a $50,000 bond.
