Dozens of teachers take a pie in the face

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

Students and teachers at a Region 8 elementary school took a break from lessons to throw pies.

30 teachers at University Heights Elementary School took a pie in the face to raise money for the DARE program.

Sergeant Doug Formon with the Jonesboro Police Department said the program is important in educating the children about drug use.

“It's a program that teaches anything from obviously the harmful effects of drugs and then peer pressure, making wise choices and good choices in your life,” Sgt. Formon.

They raised $726 for the DARE program through this fundraising event
