BLYTHEVILLE, AR - The Arkansas Department of Economic Development today begins hosting a series of ten public forums across the state in order to receive comments from Arkansans concerning housing, community and economic needs and how best to allocate funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
The first meeting is set for 11 a.m. this morning at the Mississippi County Courthouse in Blytheville. Batesville will be the site of a second forum this evening at 6 at Independence Hall at the University of Arkansas Community College-Batesville.
"HUD relies on the states to determine how best to use these funds," said Governor Mike Huckabee. "I encourage Arkansans who are interested in learning more about the grant programs to attend a public meeting in their area."
