Hytrol expanding, adding more jobs

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Hytrol Conveyor Company is growing in size and workforce.

The company announced Thursday a $12 million expansion to its Jonesboro facility. The project is slated to be completed early next year.

The 62,000-square foot expansion will include a new paint system, lasers, brake presses, and computerized numerical control (CNC) equipment, according to a news release from the company.

It will also employ at least 36 new permanent positions.

Hytrol reported a record year in sales in 2014, and expects that trend to continue.

"We're trying to support the tremendous growth that we've already seen recently and to lay the groundwork for our future growth as well," said Chris Glenn, vice president of manufacturing and engineering operations.

Glenn said the company plans to break ground on the expansion in the next week or two.

"We've already begun hiring new employees," he added.
