PARAGOULD, AR (KAIT) - Police chiefs from all over Region 8 came together Thursday to better Region 8 law enforcement.
It was all a part of the Northeast Regional Meeting for the Association of Chiefs of Police.
Police chiefs from Jonesboro, Paragould, Conway, Marion, Osceola, Leachville, and many more gathered at the Paragould Community Center to discuss what's going on in their profession.
Chad Henson, Trumann Chief of Police, said while they talk often, it's great to have the time together.
"Network together, and that's what we do," Henson said. "We come here and we talk about the recent laws or the recent tragedies that have happened in other states. How can we as a profession get better?"
A big part of the meeting included discussing the accreditation process, which is a program Henson teaches. The program requires police departments to go through training to learn how to exceed the expectations of their jobs and go beyond just the minimum standards of law enforcement.
