JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - The Jonesboro police officer who shot the machete-wielding man in April will not be charge, according to the prosecuting attorney.
In a letter to Arkansas State Police, Prosecuting Attorney Scott Ellington said that after two days of grand jury testimony from witnesses they found that there was not enough evidence to charge Patrolman First Class Heath Loggains.
Police Chief Rick Elliot released this statement on the findings:
According to police, Loggains shot Christopher Grant Finley after he struck the officer on the arm with a machete.
