Man struck by train in good condition

JACKSON COUNTY, AR (KAIT) - A Jonesboro man was struck by a train Saturday morning just north of Tuckerman.

In a news release, the Jackson County Sheriff's Department said they responded to the scene of a train and pedestrian accident at around 8:55 a.m.

After a preliminary investigation, the sheriff's department said they found that a Union Pacific train was traveling northbound near the intersection of Highway 367 and Jackson County Road 78, also known as Pond Switch Road.

That is when it struck Michael D. Tilley, 35, who was walking on the tracks.

Tilley was airlifted to UAMS.

As of Sunday night, the sheriff's department said Tilley is now in good condition.
