12-year-old girl airlifted to hospital after ATV crash

GREENE COUNTY, AR (KAIT) -

The Greene County Sheriff's Department worked an ATV accident in Finch Sunday morning where a 12-year-old girl was airlifted to a Memphis hospital.

Deputy Cody Oost with the Greene County Sheriff's Department said officers were called out to Greene County Road 704 at around 11:40 a.m.

The caller was the girl's father and said she was, “bleeding really bad.”

Oost said she was traveling southbound on the road when she and another person with her on the side-by-side ATV came to a curve going way too fast on the gravel.

They then lost control, started to go toward a big ditch and overturned on top of the girl.

That girl has a compound fracture in her right ankle and is being treated at Le Bonheur Children's Hospital.

We will keep you updated with more information as it becomes available.
