Police release name of man killed in Monday shooting

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

Jonesboro police are investigating a shooting on West Monroe Avenue where one man died.

JPD tells Region 8 News they arrived on scene at 12:50 Monday afternoon and found Nelson McCullough , 28, lying on the floor in the front room of the home.

According to police, 2 black men entered the home and shot McCullough then left the scene in a gray car.

There were other people in the home at the time of the shooting.

The victim was taken to St. Bernards and pronounced dead at the hospital.

Police said there are no suspects at this time and they do not believe this shooting is connected to the other 3.

We will update this story with any new information that is released.

This is the fourth shooting that has happened in Jonesboro this Memorial Day Weekend.

Police responded to a call of shots fired on Curtview Drive at around 6:20 Saturday morning.

When officers arrived on scene, they found Brian Kyle Gipson, 29, dead in the road.

There are no suspects in this case right now. Anyone with information is urged to call Jonesboro police.

A second shooting happened early Sunday morning at Fox Meadow Cove, where two people were injured. According to an incident report, Earl Clark, 22, and Ricky Wilson, 21, were both shot in the leg.

Around 2:30 a.m., officers responded to the 4400 of Fox Meadow in reference to shots fired.

According to police, two cars pulled up in front of the home and 8 to 10 black men exited the vehicles, asking for someone named Tyler.

Officers said after people at the home said they did not know who that was, the men pulled bandanas over their faces and one of them said, "If you don't want to tell us where Tyler is, we'll just blast all of y'all."

That suspect then pulled out a handgun and fired six to seven shots.

The suspects fled the scene in the vehicles as the victims retreated inside the residence.

Police arrived and treated the victim's wounds until EMS crews arrived and took them to St. Bernards Medical Center.

Witnesses told police the suspects could have gotten out of a black or dark colored, four-door Nissan Altima and a red, four-door Pontiac

There are no suspects at this time.

Police did arrest Roderick Wilson, 24, and Darenzy Coleman, 19, on unrelated charges in reference to valid warrants and obstruction of governmental operations.

Details are also limited on the third shooting.

We do know that it happened Sunday evening at Garden Manor on Pine Street off of Highway 141.

One person was shot in the pelvic area. They were taken into surgery Sunday night. We do not know his condition at this time.

Police also have no known suspects in this case at this time.
