Students decorate, fill shoe boxes for soldiers serving abroad

PARAGOULD, AR (KAIT) -

Pay It Forward Paragould wants Region 8 to step up and let our veterans know they care.

The shoe box project is underway.

Students at Greene County Tech Primary are hard at work decorating shoe boxes.

Once their work of art is done, the boxes will be filled with items military members might be missing as they serve abroad.

Pay It Forward founder Dustin Rumsey said it's great to get the younger generation involved in projects like these.

“You get kids young thinking outside themselves and looking at other people and see how they can help at home or abroad,” Rumsey said.

People can donate items for the shoe boxes until July 4.

Items can be dropped off at Crossfit, Anytime Fitness, Zaxby's, Chili's, the Hair Loft and First Class Cuts in Paragould.

Rumsey said he hopes parents continue to decorate show boxes with their children until that drop-off date.
