Passenger killed in Carter Co. crash

CARTER COUNTY, MO (KAIT) -

A Missouri man was killed in a Carter County crash Wednesday.

James W. Crouch, 51, of Ellsinore died as a result of the one-vehicle crash, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The crash happened on Carter Co. Road 127, four miles west of Van Buren just after 6:30 p.m.

Troopers state Crouch was the passenger of Aaron Freeman, also of Ellsinore. The Chevy Cavalier Freeman was driving went off the left side of the road and overturned.

Crouch was partially ejected and pronounced dead at the scene according to MSHP.

Another passenger, Andrew Millican of Ellsinore, received minor injuries. Crouch and Millican were not wearing seat belts.

The crash report states Freeman was wearing a seat belt and was tested as required by Missouri law.
