Preschoolers honored for community involvement

PARAGOULD, AR (KAIT) -

A Region 8 preschool class raised money for animals, while also learning about emotions.

Ms. Tammy Cole's preschool class at Paragould Primary School was honored Thursday by Image Realty for raising $731.20 for PAWS in Paragould.

Cole said they had a cutest dog contest where students could vote for different pets by paying just 1 penny.

The contest went along with a social and emotional learning lesson.

“We talk about that you don't have to be a special animal, everybody wants to be loved and needs to be taken care of,” Cole said. “Plus, if you have a pet that it's a big responsibility.”

Beverly DePew and Amanda Hood presented the class with the Evolve Community Outreach Award along with a pizza party.

DePew said Image Realty does this award every month.

“Not everybody gets recognized for what they are doing in the community,” Depew said. “We want to help people feel special because they are.”

To nominate someone for the Evolve Community Outreach Award contact DePew, Hood, or visit the Image Realty Facebook page.
