LITTLE ROCK, AR - New figures released by the state Health Department yesterday show that the immunization rate for Arkansas has climbed by 12 percentage points since 2000.  The state says the National Immunization Survey now shows the rate at 79-and-a-half percent.  In 2000, the rate was just over 67 percent.

Arkansas was among five states showing the most improvement.  The others were New Mexico, Delaware, Ohio, and Florida.  Connecticut has a rate of 92 percent, and the average rate is 80 percent.

The rates were based on the immunization of children between 19 and 35 months.
