Jonesboro hospital receives accreditation for heart care

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

NEA Baptist in Jonesboro received a special award Tuesday for their medical care.

The American Heart Association and the Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care created the American Heart Association's Mission: Lifeline Heart Attack Referring/Receiving Center Accreditation Program in September of 2011.

The program recognizes medical centers that meet or exceed quality care for people experiencing the most severe type of heart attack.

CEO of NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital Brad Parsons said this accreditation reflects the work of everyone in the hospital.

“That award really signifies our ability to get patients with critical heart care issues into the cath lab as quickly as possible,” Parsons said. “So, we're really proud of the team work that shows across many departments.”

This is the second year for NEA Baptist to receive this accreditation.
