LITTLE ROCK, AR - The Arkansas National Guard said today that a North Little Rock soldier who died of non-combat injuries in Iraq last week did not commit suicide.
Staff Sergeant William Terry Robbins died Thursday in Taji, Iraq. The Associated Press is reporting that Robbins was originally from Popar Bluff, Missouri.
Robbins' wife said her husband wanted to serve in Iraq. Kimberly Robbins, 24, said her husband was very devoted to his duties in Iraq.
The 31-year-old was serving with the 39th Infantry Brigade. The National Guard said that officers are investigating Robbins' death. Funeral services will take place at a family cemetery in Poplar Bluff, where Robbins was born. He is survived by his wife, parents and two children.
