Jonesboro library ends offsite program with magic show

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - The Craighead County Jonesboro Public Library ended its offsite program Wednesday with a magic show.

Wednesday afternoon, Region 8 residents piled into an unoccupied room at the Mall at Turtle Creek.

A magic performance was given by Rocky Clements.

Manager of Youth Services at the library Kay Taylor said their programs are not only entertaining, but educational as well.

"Teachers tell us the first 2 weeks of school, they can tell which of the children have read and which have participated in programs like the summer reading program because they have not fallen into that summer slump," Taylor said.

Even though the offsite program has ended, the library is not done.

Taylor said they have a ton of activities for kids of all ages happening at the library for the rest of the summer.
