$1,500 reward offered in bank burglary case

FORREST CITY, AR (KAIT) - The Forrest City Police Department needs help identifying two people suspected in a bank burglary.

Just before 4:30 a.m. Friday, July 24, the suspects were caught on surveillance cameras breaking into First National Bank of Eastern Arkansas, 101 N. Washington.

Police say the one of the suspects used a claw hammer to break the glass door.

Once inside the suspect used the hammer to get into the night deposit box.

Due to the box's sturdy construction and other security measures, police say the thief was unable to get into the box.

Around the same time someone broke into Dollar General, 512 N. Washington, using the same method. The potential thief was unable to get into the store's safe, police say.

FCPD is requesting the public's help in identifying those responsible for these burglaries.

Those who can identify the suspects seen in these photos is urged to call Crimestoppers at (870) 261-1499 to receive a cash reward up to $1,000 leading to an arrest. The bank is adding an additional $500 reward.
