JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Fed up with her mother-in-law's "cooking advice," police say a woman picked up a piece of glass and threatened to kill her husband.
A Craighead County District Court judge found probable cause Monday to charge Leslie Moore, 33, of Jonesboro with aggravated assault on a family or household member and terroristic threatening.
According to court documents, on Saturday, July 25, officers were called to a home in the 2400-block of Mary Jane regarding a disturbance with weapons.
When police arrived, they reportedly found Moore wielding a piece of broken glass at her husband and threatening to kill him.
Witnesses told officers the fight began over the victim's mother "giving her cooking advice." In particular, according to the incident report, how Moore cooked chicken.
In addition to threatening her husband with a knife, police say she also bit him on the arm.
During an interview with detectives, Moore claimed "everyone in the house was against her, that she was the one attacked and that she was defending herself," the affidavit stated.
If convicted, Moore could be fined up to $10,000 and sentenced to as many as 6 years in prison.
