Space being made for more food trucks in Downtown Jonesboro

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

More alternative food choices could be coming to Downtown Jonesboro.

Clay Young with Young Investment Co. told Region 8 News Monday that the Gyro stand has done so well it has opened up more opportunities for food trucks.

Young said he’s received a good response from other food vendors wanting to come downtown.

Workers were out Monday putting in electric lines and plumbing to get the space ready for more trucks to move in.

Young said 8 food trucks can fit in the space, and he already has 2 ready to join the area.

Young said they are looking for other trucks that will not compete with what is already there.

He mentioned ice cream, burritos, or snow cones as a possibilities.

He also said they are checking with health inspection records to make sure all the food trucks interested are safe and and in good standing.

Young said they’ve already ordered string lights to hang across the food truck park, and once it’s at capacity he hopes to put in more seating and possibly live music.
