JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - A woman accused of shoplifting faces felony charges after police say they found more than just a stolen bra in her possession.
Sherry Buckelew Seabaugh, 49, of Harrisburg was arrested Monday on suspicion of possession of meth or cocaine, possessing instruments of crime, resisting arrest and shoplifting.
Shortly before 2 p.m. Sgt. Philip Vanwinkle of the Craighead County Sheriff's Department was called to Dollar General, 5527 Highway 1 South, regarding a suspected shoplifter.
The manager told Vanwinkle Seabaugh had stolen a bra, valued at $8, according to the incident report.
Vanwinkle took Seabaugh into custody and led her out to his car.
While searching her purse for other stolen items, Vanwinkle said he found a smaller bag containing a clear plastic bag containing suspected meth or ICE.
As he was attempting to arrest her for possession, Seabaugh pulled away and running toward the back of his patrol car, "saying that she worked for Judge Halsey and could not go to jail," the incident report said.
When she continued to resist, Vanwinkle said he pulled his Taser and warned Seabaugh he would use it if she did not comply, the report stated.
After cuffing and placing Seabaugh in the patrol unit, Vanwinkle "finished searching the contents of her purse and found a bag full of needles, a glass pipe used to smoke meth, a small set of scales, and other drug paraphernalia," according to the report.
Vanwinkle then took her to the Craighead County Detention Center where he learned that Seabaugh had warrants out of the county. She was booked in on those charges, as well.
