FEBRUARY 17, 2005 - Posted at 4:31 p.m. CST

LITTLE ROCK, AR - A former Marked Tree coach and educator pleaded guilty today in federal court on felony charges that he engaged in sexual relations with a minor while transporting the victim over state lines nine years ago.  Robert Lynn Jennings, 48, of Little Rock will be sentenced May 19.  He faces up to ten years in prison and a $250,000 fine.

Jennings was a former coach in the Marked Tree School District.  He was accused of taking a male victim to St. Louis between May and August of 1996.  U.S. District Court Judge William R. Wilson accepted the guilty plea.

A federal indictment against Jennings was filed in July.  He still must answer to state charges in the matter.

Jennings was the former dean of students at Marked Tree.
