Man found dead in home, dozens of dogs rescued

RANDOLPH COUNTY, AR (KAIT) - A report of a body found in Randolph County led to the rescue of more than 30 dogs.

According to Sheriff Gary Tribble, deputies were called to a home on Old County Road on July 19.

A neighbor there found the homeowner dead inside the mobile home.

While investigating the man's death, deputies discovered dozens of dogs living in unhealthy conditions.

Deputies, with the assistance of the Randolph County Humane Society and the Northeast Arkansas Humane Society, rescued 31 dogs from the home.

According to documents released to Region 8 News, 17 small dogs were kept in 1 large pen and 5 dogs were kept in another pen.

Other dogs were found inside the home.

According to the sheriff's office, the home was covered in feces and urine.
