NEA Humane Society seeking volunteers to assist with rescued dogs

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

A Jonesboro organization that helped rescue over 30 dogs from a home in Randolph County now needs your help.

The NEA Humane Society helped the Randolph County Sheriff's Department and Randolph County Humane Society rescue 31 dogs from a home where the owner was found deceased.

They are using a temporary emergency shelter in Bono to house the dogs but now, they need volunteers to help feed, water and keep their living areas clean.

NEA Humane Society Director Margaret Shepherd told Region 8 News that this will not be easy work. They're looking for volunteers to work a number of shifts as the dogs will be there for 2-3 weeks while their medical issues are addressed.

Shift times:

  • 8 a.m. - 10 a.m.
  • 10 a.m. - 12 p.m.
  • 1 p.m. - 3 p.m.
  • 3 p.m. - 5 p.m.

You must be 18 years old to volunteer.

Contact the NEA Humane Society if you're interested in volunteering.
