Where's the beef? Thief breaks into business, steals roast

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

A break-in at a local business left the owner asking, “Where’s the beef?

Larry Peterson, owner of Peterson’s Auction at 1300 Paragould Dr., told Jonesboro police that sometime between 5 p.m. Wednesday and 8 a.m. Thursday someone broke into his business.

According to the initial incident report, someone jumped a wall into the storage area then pushed open a boarded-up door to get into the main store area.

The alleged thief apparently tried to open a cash drawer in the kitchen. Failing that, the crook stole a beef roast from the freezer valued at $10.

Peterson said the thief did not take anything else. However, the suspect did leave behind a flashlight, which was collected and placed into evidence for processing.
