Man accused of private acts in public place

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

Police arrested a Jonesboro man Thursday after they reportedly observed him performing a private act in a very public place.

According to the initial incident report, an agent with the Second Judicial Drug Task Force was conducting surveillance on a target near the Caraway Plaza, 1235 S. Caraway, when he noticed 38-year-old Mark A. Floyd sitting in a white Dodge pickup truck “looking around the parking lot.”

The officer stated he noticed Floyd’s “body shaking in the vehicle as he was watching female customers walking through the parking lot.”

He then sneaked up to the passenger side window and saw that Floyd had his “pants and underwear pulled down to his ankles.” Floyd, according to the report, was performing a sex act.

The officer noted in his report that Floyd had an “absorbent bed-style pad in his hand and there also appeared to be a roll of paper towels on the passenger seat."

As he was being arrested, Floyd “began to apologize” and stated “he would never do this again,” the report said.

Before another officer could take him to the Craighead County Detention Center, Floyd reportedly began to complain of chest pains.

An officer took Floyd to a local hospital where he was cited with public sexual indecency and released for treatment.
