JPD investigating armed robbery

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Police are investigating a couple's claims that they were robbed at gunpoint late Thursday night.

The reported robbery occurred shortly after 11 p.m. outside McDonald's, 1910 E. Johnson.

A 24-year-old man and woman said they were with some friends at the restaurant when they stepped outside and were confronted by two black men.

According to the incident report, one of the men was wearing a red shirt and the other was dressed in a gray shirt.

The couple told police the man in the red shirt "ordered them to give him everything they had" then showed them a small, black handgun.

The victim told the robber they did not have anything then he and the woman turned around and ran to their apartment in Cedar Heights, the report said.

Police searched the area but were unable to locate anyone matching the suspects' description.
