OXNARD, CA (AP) - Dez Bryant tossed the football with fellow receiver Cole Beasley and ran through plays hard enough for his cap to fall off as he jumped to catch a pass in the first workout of training camp.
The All-Pro was on the field with the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday in California because he signed a five-year, $70 million contract just before a July 15 deadline that would have forced him to play on a one-year deal this season.
Bryant threatened to skip camp and even regular-season games without long-term security.
The presence of last season's NFL leader in touchdowns receiving erases a major distraction for a team trying to defend a NFC East title and make a Super Bowl run.
