Randolph County business is booming

Randolph County has seen more business growth lately.

Chamber of Commerce Executive Director, Tim Scott, said there have been many retail and service businesses coming to the county.

Scott says some of the growth could be contributed to the Peco Plant being built.

"You don't get a company that is going to employ one thousand to twelve hundred workers in your town every year and this is a once in a lifetime thing and we are excited that they are coming," Scott said.

The Peco Plant is expected to open spring of 2016.

The county has had three ribbon cuttings for businesses this month, including Just Kids that opened this week.

The chamber is also getting word of a few more businesses coming in.

Scott says he cannot announce the businesses coming just yet but says the chamber is excited for more members.

Several businesses around Randolph County are also hiring.
