Cyclist visits 18 states to stop cancer

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

Cyclist stops in Jonesboro making Arkansas his 16th state to peddle through.

Eric McIntyre started cycling through the United States in April and is just eight days away from completing the Pancreatic Cancer Victory Tour.

McIntyre's wife was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer 33 months ago so he decided to help raise money for the cause.

The tour has already raised about $34,000 and a few more pledges have already been promised.

The money raised will go to the Lazarex Cancer Foundation.

McIntyre said this foundation is very deserving of the money.

They are a modest size organization now and I want them to balloon because like I said they do something totally unique that people don't know is out there and it is time they did," McIntyre said.

The tour will end in New Orleans where it began, and McIntyre and his wife are excited to finally be back together after months.

The tour has been documented by Tod Hillman, and the journey can be followed on the Pancreatic Cancer Victory Tour Facebook page.
