HENDERSON, AR (KAIT) - A Mountain Home man is in jail after reportedly shooting a gun in a house while children were inside.
Baxter County Sheriff John Montgomery states Christopher Lee West, 40, was arrested Sunday following a disturbance call on Wilderness Point Road.
Dispatch received the call around 9:45 p.m. reporting a man was inside the house firing a gun with others inside. Montgomery said the 911 operator could hear gunshots in the background.
Deputies arrested West in the front yard of the residence after they arrived on scene.
According to Montgomery, West's wife told deputies her husband "started firing a handgun inside the house and pointed it at her."
There were also three children inside the house at the time, according to the sheriff.
Deputies reportedly found a handgun outside in a chair and "several casings" scattered throughout the house. Officers also saw holes in the walls that were believed to have been made from the handgun being fired.
West was charged with four counts felony counts of aggravated assault and three felony counts of endangering the welfare of a minor.
He is in the Baxter County Jail in lieu of $100,000 bond and will appear in court Aug. 6.
