Jonesboro police arrested two teens Monday afternoon after they allegedly stole from a man using an ATM.

The theft happened at the Citgo on Johnson Avenue. Clerks at the store told Region 8 News the victim was withdrawing cash to get a money order to pay his rent.

That's when two teens, who the clerks said were regulars at the store, snatched the money from the man and took off.

Clerks said they checked surveillance video following the incident and it showed the teens shoplifting prior to the theft.

The victim also told police that prior to the incident, he witnessed the men stuffing items into a backpack.

Jonesboro police were dispatched and later arrested an unnamed 17-year-old juvenile and 18-year-old Hunter Hardin.

The teens face misdemeanor charges for theft, shoplifting and fleeing.

A backpack was located nearby with multiple bags of chips and cans of dip inside. Those items were returned to the store. The backpack was taken into evidence.
