JACKSON COUNTY, AR (KAIT) - The Jackson County Sheriff's Office is searching for a missing man who was last seen early Tuesday morning.

Jesus A. Martinez-Munoz, also known as Jessie Martinez, has been a seasonal worker for Riceland for 10 years.

He is from El Paso, TX.

He got into Jackson County on Saturday and began work in the rice fields Sunday.

On Monday, Martinez began to pass out. His coworkers believed he was suffering from heat exhaustion.

The people Martinez was staying with said that he became belligerent around 3 a.m. Tuesday.

He then left and didn't report to work later that morning.

The sheriff's department searched abandoned houses, surrounding rice fields and shops in the area on Tuesday.

They were not able to reach Martinez on his phone and no local hospitals had records of him being admitted.

They have put out BOLOs in surrounding counties.

Lt. Morales with the Jackson County Sheriff's Office said they hope to get a plane or helicopter out Wednesday morning to search by air.

He said foot and ATV searches won't be feasible because the rice and bean fields are being watered and it's a lot of vegetation they cannot get through.

The sheriff's office is asking citizens and local farmers in the Grubbs community to keep an extra eye out for Martinez while they are in the fields.

If you have any information about where Martinez might be, contact the Jackson County Sheriff's Office.
