LITTLE ROCK, AR (KAIT) - The Arkansas Department of Emergency Management (ADEM) has begun accepting applications for its storm shelter rebate program.
Applications are available to owners who have had shelters installed on or before June 30, 2015.
Governor Asa Hutchinson approved the following recommendations made by the ADEM.
The funds available as of July 1, 2015 will be used to reimburse owners who have their applications on file with the ADEM.
A complete application must include verification of the shelter installation by a local emergency manager.
A completed application will be accepted from the local emergency manager or the applicant upon receiving all necessary documents with the required signatures.
Electronic submissions will not be accepted.
The ADEM will accept applications to be processed for a rebate until 4:30 pm January 29, 2016.
Any eligible applications received until that date will be processed as fund become available, which are not expected until July 2016 at the earliest.
