Blytheville police investigate shooting death

BLYTHEVILLE, AR (KAIT) -

Police in Blytheville are investigating the death of a man who was shot Wednesday.

Officers responded to the 2300-block of Carolyn Street in reference to someone being shot around 10 a.m., according to Criminal Investigation Division Commander Captain Scott Adams.

Police did find a man identified as 47-year-old Joseph Anderson Jr. with an apparent gunshot wound. Anderson was taken to a Blytheville hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Anderson's body will be sent to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for official cause of death, Adams said in a news release.
