12 arrested in Lepanto drug investigation

LEPANTO, AR (KAIT) -

Lepanto police made several arrests Thursday as part of an illegal drug investigation.

According to Lepanto Police Chief Chad Henderson, warrants were issued for the arrest of 16 individuals following the completion of the two-month investigation.

Henderson said there was a total of 120 felony charges along with 11 misdemeanor charges.

Twelve individuals were taken into custody Thursday on various drug charges including possession of methamphetamine and marijuana.

Henderson listed the following men and women who will appear in court Friday for a probable cause hearing:

  • Tara Dobbins, Lepanto
  • Cristi Bryan, Lepanto
  • Cynthia Johnson, Lepanto
  • James Bettes, Lepanto
  • Phillip Vaughn, Lepanto
  • Corey Leija, Lepanto
  • John Collins, Lepanto
  • George Griggs, Lepanto
  • Misty Sparks, Lepanto
  • Bradley Jones, Lepanto
  • James Burrus, Lepanto
  • Randi Tucker, Lepanto

Henderson said the remaining warrants will be served as "contact is made with the suspects."

The Lepanto Police Department was assisted by the Poinsett County Sheriff's Department and Arkansas Highway Police in the warrant sweep.
